Looking at a nice week out there with cooler temperatures, gusty west winds at times, and dry weather. A Pacific trough of low pressure approaching the west coast will bring a stronger onshore flow across Southern California. This will lead to a deeper marine layer over our coastal & valley areas with gusty west winds 20-30 mph for us during the afternoons through the middle of the week. Temperatures will also drop 10 degrees below average, giving us our first taste of some fall-like weather. Expect clear skies this evening with west winds gusting to 20 mph, decreasing overnight as lows drop into the 40s. Mostly sunny, windy, and cooler tomorrow with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Daytime highs will drop into the mid-60s through the middle of the week, while overnight lows also dip into the 30s, not quite to freezing yet, but could get close in a few locations. This trough will be replaced with building high pressure by the weekend for continued fair weather as temperatures return to normal.
